About Arowbe

Arowbe is from Vancouver, Canada representing the 876! I got to know him when they came through with Sporadic on their Japan Tour in 2005. Leading the pack of the new wave of Vancouver-based rap talent, Arowbe is a charismatic lyricist who speaks thought-provoking rhymes that will no doubt draw listeners into his clandestine world. A versatile and insightful lyricist, with incredibly rapid flow, Arowbe has a reflective view on social order and culture. Arowbe grasps the ironies and hypocrisies of society and relationships, breaking them down with his own distinct and charming swagger. Determined to epitomize the emcee, Arowbe “Bridges the underground with the commercially viable, the human with the godly relating to everyman but rapping for the emcees.” His focus is on his messages, but more importantly, his focus is on the mean. Unleashing some of the most impressive lyrical tracks to hit the scene in years, Arowbe writes good, honest music and speaks from his soul. Arowbe is a revolutionary voice for the new generation, talking with you, not at you ACCOMPLISHMENTS •Has shared the stage with such artists as K’naan, Blackalicious, Mathematik, Saukrates, Brass Monk, The Quartertones, CVE, Emotionz, Fourth World, DJ Serious, DJ Boogeyman, DJ P-Plus and more. •Guest Host on Project Bounce 89.5 FM •Guest Host on Sound Check Show with DJ Grouch - CHRY 105.5 •Over 1500 units sold. •Host at “The Underground” weekly Toronto club night. 2004-2005 •Arowbe track, ‘How I Feel’ featured on episode of CBC series, Nerve, a show devoted to youth culture •At age 16, Arowbe received an honorable mention and standing ovation at Universal Urban’s X-posed Open Mic •Recipient of 2004 Phillip Rigg Scholarship for performing arts •Recipient of 2004 BC District Scholarship for performing arts
