About Aric Improta

Aric Improta is an American drummer, visual artist, and performer, widely recognized as one of the most creative and physically impressive musicians of his generation. He established himself on the international stage with his progressive rock band Night Verses, showcasing a complex technicality that blends electronic textures with organic playing. He rose to prominence thanks to his explosive energy in the band FEVER 333, with which he earned a Grammy Award nomination. Having exited the latter in 2022 together with Stephen Harrison (formerly of The Chariot), he and Harrison started a new project in 2024, House of Protection, inspired by Massive Attack's 1994 album Protection. A true "complete performer," Improta is famous for his athletic feats, most notably performing backflips between two drum kits mid-song. Beyond the physical spectacle, he is a sound design innovator, utilizing pads and samplers to transform the drum kit into a melodic and cinematic instrument. A talented illustrator and director, he often designs the visual identity of his projects himself, such as his ambitious 18-minute solo performance, Blurring Tone. His approach, which fuses conceptual art with the raw intensity of rock, makes him a leading avant-garde figure in modern drumming.
