About Ariada
Blending indie pop-rock, blues and soul into a delectable stew of sound, Ariada is a Chicago-based outfit rapidly gaining a national foothold after over a year of tremendous local growth. Drawing from an array of influences stretching from the infant radio days of Robert Johnson to the likes of Grace Potter, Alabama Shakes and Black Keys on the modern airwaves, crowds of teens and twenty-somethings as well as baby boomers have found Ariada to be both a noble tribute and a great step forward. After recently venturing out of their Windy City stomping grounds—leaving large footprints in Wisconsin and Nebraska—Ariada dropped their self titled debut EP in late August 2013, having spent the past few months in Stonecutter studios with Grammy Award-nominated producer/engineer, Chris Steinmetz. The band has had the privilege of sharing the stage with national acts Willy Moon, JC Brooks and the Uptown Sound, Carbon Leaf, Shivering Timbers, Minus The Bear, and Diplo, In addition to playing Chicago’s top clubs—including headlining at Metro, Lincoln Hall, Schubas, Cubby Bear, Beat Kitchen and Double Door—Ariada has been welcomed to perform at DePaul Fest 2013 and The Sheffield Street MusicFestival. PRESS: "[Lesleigh] Arratia (who has drawn comparisons to Alabama Shakes frontwoman Brittany Howard) has range. She can get down low, her soulful voice a gritty rumble, or take things up to a piercing scream without a moment's hesitation" Jim Ryan, Chicago Now - http://bit.ly/UV21y5 The first song, “Keep It Together,” reminds me a bit of Rachael Yamagata. It’s got that pop sound that you’d expect to hear on the radio, but then you get a burst of the trumpets and it takes on a new kind of feel. - "They’ve only been together for about a year, but they were as tight as anyone I’ve seen" Josh Terzino, Music-Defined - http://bit.ly/1fzPW5D
