About Arbete & Fritid
A collective group founded 1969 in Uppsala, Sweden. They played a unique kind of music, mainly inspired by jazz, rock, psychedelic and (Swedish mainly) folk-music. They wrote some music themselves but most was old folk-music interpretted in their own way or collective improvisation. Between 1975-1981, Thomas Mera Gartz, who earlier had played with Träd, Gräs & Stenar, played with them. The band had alot of line-ups up untill they dispanded in 1981. Ove Karlsson was later to form the band Nya Ljudbolaget, and also kept writing theater music. Tord Bengtsson plays with Hellzephyrs poporkester and have also appeared in Bitter Funeral Beer Band. -Mainly leached and translated from http://www.progg.se/
