What started out as serious band, turned into one of the most annoying joke bands of all time. Apocolyptic Youth began in early 1998 as a punk band from Carmel, NY, with members that actually practiced and wrote songs. They recorded two basement demos and played 3 shows before calling it quits. Four years later, they thought it would be funny if they reformed and played a show and annoyed people by doing so. Unfortunately their drummer was located, then proceded to disappear, making relearning the old songs impossible. Instead the band decided to invite as many people as possible play in the band at the show, improvise everything, wear costumes, and make a whole lot of noise. The plan was to play the one show, but they recieved a positive response to the joke and have since been playing frequently, wherever and with whomever they want, their biggest show opening for Sodom and Finntroll with 11 people in the band. Of the origianl band, only 2 members still consistantly play with the new noise lineup, and in the new band, the members fluxuate depending on what show they are playing.
