About Andrea Ferroni
Andrea Ferroni, musician from Turin in the north of Italy, was born in 1977. Fascinated by the didjgridoo, he first taught himself to play and later followed courses and seminars held by world famous artists such as Matthias Mueller, Ansgar Stein, Michael Jackson, Mark Atkins and Alan Dargin. Making the most of such teachings, he soon developed his own highly individual techniques. He has collaborated with the Wetonton Didg Club with whom he organised the third and fourth editions of the Didgfest in Pinerolo: the very first didgeridoo festival in Italy; with the RAI (Italian national TV) for an edition of Alle Falde del Kilimangiaro focusing on Australia; with the Architorti and with the percussionist Tony Esposito. In less than three years he took part in three of the most prestigious festivals in Europe: in France, Switzerland and Germany, receiving great acclaim from the critics and publications in specialised magazines. He has produced 3 albums entitled: Windproject, Noises and Voices, and Tribal Revolution. He founded the Didgeridoo School and began to teach there in 2003, focusing his teaching and research methods on phonetics, logopedia and physics and has held seminars and courses all over Italy, Switzerland and Germany. Since 2006 he has been teaching at the Lat Gong ethnic music school in Genova: a school that has brought together the greatest experts and scholars in numerous disciplines from all around the world. He founded the cultural association Yidaki, dedicated to the promotion of the Australian aboriginees music and culture: an association which in less than a year already has almost 100 members from Italy and other parts of the world. Andrea makes his own instruments which are highly esteemed in Italy and which used by many artists for their performances. He also collaborates with European researchers studying possible internal forms for the didjeridoo on the basis of the principal techniques used by contemporary musicians. Some of his studies have been published in Didgeridoo Enciclopaedia Lexicon, an encyclopedia of the didgeridoo. Andrea has also published with co-author Alberto Furlan the book, "The Didgeridoo Discovery". _______________________________________ Andrea Ferroni is a member of IMIsound Independent Musicians from Italy
