About Allan Edwall
Allan Edwall (1924-1997), Swedish actor, director and song-writer from Jämtland. Edwall was an anarchist who wrote songs in a plump, folkly maner, with an obvious tone of leftwing-politics. His singing is a still half-talk, half melody thing, which breaks in the more "grandiouse" parts. His fatherly voice is accompanied by melancholic, classic, swedish folkmusic. His first studio album was "Grovdoppa", which was released in 1979. He then released 3 more albums "Färdknäpp" (1981), "Gnällspik" (1982) and "Vetahuteri" (1984). Later, two albums were released in 2005 by the label National. The album-titles are difficult to translate to english since they are swedish slang words. Edwall is also very well known for his participation in the movies based on Swedish author Astrid Lindgren's books.
