About A Process Of
From the very beginning Melbourne’s own heavy-rock outfit A Process Of refused to be defined by lazy clichés and simplified catchphrases. BLUNT MAGAZINE stated, “Their self-titled debut EP combines technical prowess, wonderful pacing and bitter aggression with a national identity they can be proud of.” It didn’t stop there… Since 2003 A Process Of have electrified both listeners & audiences nationally with their hybrid fusion of rock, metal, punk & hardcore. Their latest self-titled LP is a powerfully intense & anthemic rock offering projecting the four-piece to new creative heights. From the stoner-swagger of first single ‘Black Rose’ to the urgent melodic vocal delivery & hardcore guitar savagery of ‘Exiled’, A Process Of have successfully melded genres this time around whilst retaining solid song writing continuity. How did A Process Of come to be? Guitarist & songwriter Dave Altheim explains briefly, “Essentially there was Brad Mackenzie (Bass), Craig Stephens (Drums & Percussion) and myself. We began jamming around 2002. As we were jamming we started bringing in material then things progressed quickly from there. It took a long time to find a vocalist so we spent the first year trying out people. Pete J. Alexander (Join the Amish, Menendez, Tricity, Call & Response) came up to us one night and asked if he could try out. He came back to us within a week with lyrics already written to one of the songs and we decided he was the guy.”
