About 7cities

Led by Felipe A. Aukay and Gus Potenza, both singers and composers, “7Cities” reaches the market with an unusual and authentic offering that reconciles a contemporary urban style with an immortal musical tradition that enlarges, beautifies, and gives special impact to their work. After the extraordinary 2005 success throughout Latin America with the single “Little Town”, the band reaches now a new level, that of musical maturity. The new album (recorded during the months of June through October 2007) will be launched with this maturity added to their musical experience. But the founders of “7Cities’ aim for even more; in addition to showing their work, they hope to touch everyone’s heart with the perfect balance between feeling and technique. This balance isn’t missing from a single one of their songs because their instruments don’t only play, they actually radiate life! It is in this untiring search through balance that the listeners shall encounter facets that refer to and touch the people of the world. Songs such as “Concrete Bed” and “Millennium” are practically a cry for help addressed to the human consciousness at the point reached by the world today. In the process of browsing, the listeners will encounter the melodies, “Gasoline” and “Cruel Seas”, songs certain to make them reach for the ‘repeat’ in the album even before they have come to their end, because their theme touches, Love, the deepest inherent human sentiment! They shall discover the powerful “From the Ocean” and “It’s All True” as well as the anguished, profound and truly great “Andromeda” and “Monde Absent”. Nor can they forget the classic, “Little Town”, a song that promises to enter our lives and to never ever leave them again. Its success led the band members to proceed in an inverse, but correct, order – starting with a single and following up with an album. With its perfect harmony between words, music, voice, and instruments, “7Cities” is bound to make a substantial impression. It has already drawn an appreciative public that realizes that music is not only a form of creative expression, but a path through which to achieve happiness.
