1,000 Year Flood

About 1,000 Year Flood

1,000 Year Flood is a power trio from Vancouver, WA. They joined together in late 2019 and solidified their bond through the Covid-19 pandemic. The band found initial common ground through parenthood, as each of the three members had a single son in second grade when they first met. They have jokingly embraced the "Dad Band" moniker, striving to make "Dad Rock" that is distinctive and original in the 21st century despite their older roots. The band is made up of William "Scott" Browning on vocals and guitar, Joe Lenahan on vocals and bass, and Carlos Reyna on drums and percussion. Each comes from a background in differing musical genres. Browning's roots are in folk music, Lenahan's in heavy metal, and Reyna's in traditional Mexican music. Their songs attempt to draw on each influence. In 2020 the band made their first studio entry to record seven demos live on the floor. These songs have been available at no cost to the public and served as an introduction from the musicians to booking agents in the Pacific Northwest region. 2022 was a much busier year. The band self-released a 5-song commercial EP of music while playing their first consistent slate of shows in the post-pandemic world. Simultaneously, Carlos achieved full citizenship with the United States of America, Joe adopted a foster child, and Scott started a new second career as a public school teacher.
