About 菅崎茜
菅崎茜 (Sugazaki Akane), born January 7, 1989, is a Japanese pop singer. In 2002, then 13-year-old Akane won a small singing competition using Kuraki Mai's Stand Up. A GIZA Studio producer saw her on the show and instantly encouraged her to make a debut with the label. Later in the same year, she released her first single, beginning dream. Although it only hit on number 38 on the Oricon Charts, many people were interested with the newcomer's unique voice. Some people even predicted she was going to be the next Kuraki Mai for that both had the same simple style of clothing and had very few appearances yet made an incredibly large fanbase. Currently Akane has been on a long hiatus since 2006,
