Xu Wen is a Singapore-based singer who gained massive popularity in Asia after being discovered by a record company in China. She sounded so much like the late Teresa Teng that the producers originally thought it was a prank when they received her demo tapes, that someone was sending them re-mastered recordings of Teng on top of newly recorded music. Xu's first CD is a collection of old Teresa's hits, sang in Japanese, Mandarin Chinese and Cantonese. Adding her own interpretations with a mixed a contemporary jazz arrangement, Xu's collection has added new life to the canon of Teresa Teng's massive back catalog.
