PENG XIYUE (TingTing) is releasing her first personal album at the end of the spring 2021. Words and sentiments are carriers, and rapping is not a limiting form. The album speaks as she looks at herself through a mirror, observing but experiencing at the same time as the story goes. “I like to start from what I define as the ‘beginning of all’: nature, mother, teeth, and the love. Tracks in the album are trying to tell my yearning for a simple life. I remain in the room in the city every day and night, having a pair of dancing shoes seeded in my heart, but they just got damped down there.” “Most people are used to just turning away from their inevitable pessimism.” CHONG ER is made up of eight tracks, all about the “self”. They are the introspection at the pretending composed moment, the continuous soliloquy, also the taciturnity. As PENG XIYUE puts all herself into the making of music, the visual design of CHONG ER is paid with the same earnestness, breathing together with the image that words express. Eating Music producer Sdewdent joined the work on several tracks. As he hopes to create Organic Hip-Hop, Sdewdent takes over the making of background music and post-production, assisting PENG XIYUE to present an explicit, integrated, and musically abundant album. “PNG XIYUE and I both attempt to keep what Hip-Hop music made us feel as we ever had from the beginning, since it was foreign at all.” Singer / Artist DBZ joined the work for track "LI ZHI". Being the last track of the album, it build a perfect ambiance and imagery. The design of the cover and the merch gives credit for independent illustrator XINXIN XU, “The music sounds so nice, like a story happening at dusk, a person leaving to somewhere, the cover allows infinite imagination about the relationship between the two on it.” Music is the best connecting passway for records and yearnings; doubts or introspections are hidden in the songs, waiting to be found.
