The band originated from a high school cover project titled 凛としてくれ (Rin to Shite Kure), inspired by Ling Tosite Sigure. After entering university, the same members decided to shift toward creating original music, which led to the foundation of Sokoninaru. The band’s name was chosen for its intentionally ambiguous nuance, combining words like “there” and “to resound” to evoke a vague but memorable impression. According to the members, it was also formed by combining words each member had typed into their phones, resulting in a name open to multiple interpretations. In their early years, Sokoninaru steadily built a following through live performances. By 2013, they successfully drew over 100 attendees to a self-organized show in Shinsaibashi. In 2014, they distributed free demo recordings at live venues, handing out around 600 copies within two weeks. Their momentum led to an indie debut in 2015 with the EP I'm NOT a pirolian under KOGA RECORDS, followed by a nationwide tour with labelmates Bentham. That same year, they performed in Taiwan, marking an early step into international activity. In 2016, they released the EP YAMINABE and toured nationally, though the departure of their drummer later that year marked a transitional period. The band continued forward, and in 2017, their release METALIN was selected for Tower Records Japan’s “Tawarekomen” recommendation program. Their 2018 release Zero further expanded their reach, with the track “Odoru” gaining significant traction online. The band’s first one-man live show took place in 2019 at Shimokitazawa SHELTER, followed by a European tour across six countries. That same year, they released the mini-album Issén and embarked on a nationwide tour. In 2020, they issued their first full-length album Chōetsu, alongside video releases and an overseas edition distributed in Europe. Marking their 10th anniversary in 2021, Sokoninaru launched the seven-week consecutive release project 7 ultimate materials. Later that year, drummer Shoto Saito officially joined the band, restoring a three-piece lineup for the first time in approximately six years. With a stable formation, the band continued to expand their touring and recording activities. In 2022, they released the mini-album Keimō shite, Jōjō ni and completed a nationwide tour. In 2023, they contributed the track “Tōsō o Tsugu” as an opening theme for the starting lineup introduction of the Orix Buffaloes, demonstrating their growing presence beyond the live music scene. In 2024, Sokoninaru provided the opening theme “Sōmonka” for the anime The Witch and the Beast. Following a three-month consecutive digital single release campaign, they released their second full-length album Kaigan Shōmei and supported it with a nationwide one-man tour. In 2025, they released “miss-dystopia” as the ending theme for the anime FARMAGIA, followed by additional digital singles. Continuing to balance domestic and international live performances, Sokoninaru have established themselves as a distinctive presence in the modern Japanese rock scene. About the members: Juko Suzuki (born November 15, 1991): Guitar, vocals, lyrics, composition His roots as a band and the reason he started a cover band were "Ling Tosite Sigure," but before that he listened to MONGOL800 and GOING STEADY, and in junior high school he listened to Avex artists such as Every Little Thing and Do As Infinity. His first encounter with an instrument was an acoustic guitar that his grandmother bought him for his birthday. When writing lyrics, he insists on writing in Japanese, where the meaning of the lyrics is easily conveyed, rather than in foreign languages such as English. Also, because he doesn't like lyrics that are obviously fabricated, he values writing "lyrics that show his true feelings". In interviews, he has said that he wants to do J-POP, and he describes Soko ni Naru's musical style as "extreme J-POP". Misaki Fujiwara (born June 28, 1992): Bass, Vocals She became interested in music after listening to Yosui Inoue in elementary school. During her middle and high school years, she encountered bands that greatly influenced the formation of her musical values, such as BUMP OF CHICKEN, Ling Tosite Sigure, 9mm Parabellum Bullet, SLIPKNOT, and THE FALL OF TROY. Like Suzuki, she was influenced by Ling Tosite Sigure during her student days and together they formed a cover band of the band. Originally a guitarist, she started playing bass after being impressed by 345, the bassist of Ling Tosite Sigure. Shoto Saito (born January 24, 1998): Drums, Vocals He met the other members through an introduction from Shinya [Note 1], who was the support drummer for Soko ni Naru. After participating as a support member, he officially joined the band on December 3, 2021, at the final performance of the 'ULTIMATE STRIKE TOUR 2021' held at Ebisu LIQUIDROOM. His musical roots lie in Hi-STANDARD and ELLEGARDEN, which he encountered in his high school's light music club, and later in overseas melodic punk, which he explored on his own. He lists locofrank, HAWAIIAN6, and dustbox as some of his favorite bands .
