Jobanni is a vocalist, illustrator and multi-instrumentalist from Tokyo that plays ukulele, piano and electric organ. Her music is influenced by Ueda Gen, Satoshi Ashikawa, and Japanese self-produced music of the 1980s. In 2018, she released her first CD-R "goldfish song'', and has since released various homemade albums, all exclusively released in physical format aside from 2021's "夢をみる音楽", a compilation of songs from her previous works distributed by Disk Union. Many of Jobanni's albums share the same tracks. Jobanni's music has been described by publications as "sad chamber music acid folk" and "extremely unstable, delicate, poignant and introspective." Her music is mainly driven by acoustic instruments and produced in GarageBand. When it comes to genre, her music often falls into the category of avant-folk, with influences from indie pop and psychedelic folk.
