About Loft
1. Loft is a German eurodance act whose name is an acronym for "Live Our Fathers’ Teaching." The group consisted of Courtney Dean, St. Patrick Williams, and Richard Wayne Williams, also known as Ranking Richie. Various vocalists contributed to their work, including Kim Sanders, Lori Glori, Gina Mohammed, and Sandra Steinborn. The project was produced by Michael Eisele and Dietmar Stehle under the name DMP. Loft achieved chart success in the 1990s with singles such as "Hold On," "Summer Summer," "Love Is Magic," "Mallorca," and "Wake the World." They released two albums, "Wake the World" (1994) and "Future World" (1995). In 2004, the group returned with a remix of "Summer Summer," followed in 2005 by the singles "Still No 1" and "Love Can't Be Wrong," featuring new vocalist Sue. 2. The Loft was a British indie rock band formed in 1980 by Peter Astor (vocals, guitar), Bill Prince (bass), Andy Strickland (guitar), and Dave Morgan (drums). Initially called The Living Room, the group changed its name after discovering a local venue with the same title, operated by Alan McGee. They developed a close association with McGee, performing at his venue and later signing to his newly founded Creation Records. The Loft released their debut single "Why Does the Rain?" in 1984, followed by "Up the Hill and Down the Slope" in 1985, which received positive critical attention. The band toured nationally as the opening act for The Colourfield, but internal tensions culminated in their breakup onstage at the Hammersmith Palais during the final date of the tour. 3. LOFT was the moniker of an electronic music artist from North Manchester working in the IDM genre. Under this name, the artist released the EPs "Three Settlements Four Ways" and "And Departt From Mono Games." In 2019, the project was discontinued, and the artist began releasing music under the name AYA.
