Scheuermann (aka :scheuermann:) is a one-man studio project by Senon. The name of the project was taken from the name of a backbone necrosis called the "scheuermann disease". The project was formed in Stettin at the end of 2002 created mainly by Senon, who writes all of the music as well as performs vocals and instruments on the studio recordings. Co creator of the project was Doorzy, but he left the band after the first album because of personal issues. From the middle of 2003 :scheuermann: has been a solo project and Senon's therapeutic help with his progressing schizophrenic sickness. The specific sound of Senon's compositions is hard to categorize, but it's somehow possible to hear some influences of a few genres such as industrial, ambient, trip hop and cold wave. The lyrics are mostly inspired by very personal experiences and emotions caused by the sickness itself. The project uncovers the secretive feelings and scars of a traumatic past. It shows schizophrenia and suffering as the only way to reach catharsis. Scheuermann's debut album, Keephosis, was recorded in march 2003, with Doorzy's presence. The songs were very depressing with sounds of low guitars, distorted synths, filters, and groaning vocals. Lyrics were mostly inspired by the diseases and medication, creating the ambience of illness and the isolation of a hospital. Senon then started a new album alone entitled Disabled. It was finished in august 2003, it was clear that the music was inspired by the synthetic sounds of the 80's. In connection with his sickness it gave the minimal electro-psychedelic sound as well. Compositions showed the early stadium of schizophrenia such as the feelings of being torn-apart and depressed. It's worthy to notice that the lyrics to "little..." were written by Doorzy. Between october 2003 and march 2004 Senon recorded the third album - Awake. It was based on two different concepts - 'A Portrait of Human' and 'Existence before Life' - which were interweaving and interacting together. The first part showed the history of a man whose life was falling to pieces because of a slowly creeping schizophrenia. The second part was instrumental, its compositions were intended to create the ambience of the foetus' life inside the womb. The music on Awake was the beginning of an individual un-gendered style that would be known as :scheuermann:. During the process of recording, Senon was supported by Doorzy (guitar solo in "fatigue") and Av3 (female voice in "becoming animal" and lyrics to "poisoned"). In 2005 :scheuermann: released a new album entitled Selfslave. The concept was about schizophrenic feelings of being locked inside one's mind and being dominated by another personality. Music on Selfslave was melancholic, but filled with anxiety that increased with every song on the album. Compositions were mostly based on low sounds of piano, slow, hard drum beats and blurred, vague, high sounds. Calmness and harmony of sound were contrasting with very emotional and painful lyrics which create the ambience of perplexity in progressing disharmony of feelings. Lyrics to "distant" and "fade in fear" were written by Av3.
