Wolfgang "Wolle" Petry (born Franz Hubert Wolfgang Remling, 22 September 1951) is a German schlager musician and songwriter from Cologne, Germany. In 1997, he was recognized as the leading German-language musician in terms of chart performance for that year, largely due to the success of his album "Alles". Petry received the Echo award for "Best Folk/Pop Artist National/International" consecutively from 1997 to 2001. He was also awarded the Goldene Stimmgabel for Most Successful German Solo Pop Act in 1996, 1997, 1999, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003, and 2005. Additionally, he received the "Platinum Life Award" at the Goldene Stimmgabel ceremonies in 1998 and 2006. In 2017, Petry began a side project called the Pete Wolf Band, which features English-language songs with a country-oriented style. The band released albums in 2017 and 2019, as well as an EP in 2022.
