About the Asthmatics
The Asthmatics were a punk rock band from Manchester, New Hampshire. The band Consisted of Boney Wheeler ( Bass and Vocals) Tristan Omand ( Guitar and Vocals) and Jake Nevrla ( Drums ) They formed in 2003. In 2006 the went by the name The State Street Liars forming a hybrid of two of the bands Omand was in at the time. When the State Street Liars failed after only a year, Omand and Wheeler brought back the name The Asthmatics for it was the name they were known as. That year Nevrla was added to the band. After years of failed touring, no record label willing to pick them up and changes to their style the band released their final record and called it quits in 2010. They were thought to be the rebirth of Punk Rock to their area. A scene where hardcore, emo, indie and alternative were the dominating genres. They inspired much of the youth in Manchester to start playing in bands by booking all ages shows and demanding no drama and no bullshit. Their hometown shows were electric with almost a cult following.
