About poorwater

In January, 2010, the members of PoorWater began to experiment with creating a new musical sound using their diverse experiences in rock and classical music. After nearly two years of song writing, collaboration, and performing around Arizona, PoorWater found their dark-progressive musical niche. They released their debut album, Harvesting Habits, in December 2011. Harvesting Habits features songs written by all of the band members and varies from the catchy groove of the title track, “Harvesting Habits,” to the dark and soulful “Existential Crisis.” Instrumental tracks “Lost” and “Found” feature the electric cello, while “Across War Torn Lands” and “Anxiety” demonstrate the musical chemistry and interplay between the band members. This album is only the beginning of their musical exploration. Devin Frituger, James Shihady, Lauren K. Jones, and Richard Rockwood (Rock) , met as members of a previous band in 2008. After that band dissolved, their close friendships and shared musical vision brought them together into a new band, PoorWater. The band was finally complete when James' cousin, Nathan Graham, joined on the bass. PoorWater is based out of Mesa, Arizona.
