Pianist Igor Naimark Igor Naimark is a pianist of outstanding temperament, technique and culture. His repertoire ranges from Baroque, Classical, and Romantic works to contemporary and jazz music. Igor Naimark was born in Kharkov (Ukraine) in 1955, where hе started learning piano at the age of five. Не continued his studies in the Musical High School by the State Moscow Conservatory with Prof. Dmitry Bashkirov and in the Moscow State Tchaikovsky Conservatory under Prof. Yakov Zak, where he had individual classes on Bach’s music performance with Т. Nikolayeva, and participated in master-classes with Y. Malinin, L. Naumov and V. Merzhanov. Later, he studied at the Kharkov State Academy with Y. Smirnov, M. Yeshchenko and R. Horowitz, the sister of the renowned Vladimir Horowitz. After graduation in 1979, the pianist remained at the Academy for three more years to teach piano performance and worked as a soloist of the State Ukrainian Ukrconcert, he also participated with distinction in diverse piano competitions in Ukraine and Russia. Igor Naimark performed throughout the former Soviet Union with highly esteemed orchestras as well as the philharmonic societies of Moscow, Кiev, Odessa and Novosibirsk. From 1987 to 1991 he worked as a soloist of the Belorussian State Philharmonic Society. In 1991, Naimark settled in Israel. From 1991 until today he teaches at the Tel-Aviv Academy of music. Since then he has performed in hundreds concerts in Israel, Europe, USA and Canada. Highlights from Naimark’s biographical time line 1977 – Recording of a program for the Ukraine State Television 1979 – First prize at the Lysenko International Piano Competition, Lvov, Ukraine 1980 – Honorable prize of the Ukrainian Composer’s union. 1985 – Documentary film “Igor Naimark plays” at the Kharkov State Film Studio 1989 – Recording of a program for the Belorussian State Television 1987 – Soloist of the Belorussian State Philharmonic Society. 1988 – Concert with Symphonic orchestra of Zelena Gura, Poland under C. Grabowski. 1989 – Winner of the Red Clove Festival in the Golden Ring of the Volga, where he played eight concerts with the Belorussian Academic State Symphonic Orchestra under V. Dubrovsky. 1991 – Settled in Israel 1992–1996 – recitals in Austria, Germany, Holland 1998 – Concerts in southern Spain: Marbella, Special Prize of the Malaga Festival 2000 – Recorded CD of works by Joseph Dorfman 2002 -- Five concerts with the Israeli State Chamber orchestra under Uri Leshmahn 2005 – Six concerts with the Haifa Symphonic Orchestra under Noam Sheriff. 2003–2008 – joint concerts with Тhree Tenors (under Y. Shapovalov) in Lithuania, Italy, USA and Canada, and in all main concert halls of Israel, including the Mann Auditorium in Tel-Aviv, the Knesset, Jerusalem, the President’s residence, Jerusalem, Haifa and Beer-Sheba. Most recent events - 2006 – Recitals in Atlanta, New-York, Chicago, Boston, San-Francisco, Beverly Hills, San-Diego and Toronto 2007 – Recitals in Rome, Naples, Milan, and Vilnius, Lithuania. 2008 – Five concerts with the Jerusalem Chamber Orchestra under A.
