About Ziggurat (UK)
There are two bands with the name Ziggurat, one a heavy metal band. The UK band is composed of singer/songwriters Dave Styles and Steve Verge. Started when both were at school in Devon in 1970 Ziggurat expanded to become a five-piece contemporary folk/rock/jazz group comprising Dave Styles (vocals, guitars), Steve Verge (vocals, guitars), Ted Verge (violin), John Wills (guitars) and Dave SMaldon (dulcimer). In 1974 this line-up recorded their self-titled zlbum with legendary folk collector Peter Kennedy on the Folktrax label. In the 1990s the duo of Dave and Steve reocrded and released a number of albums which can be heard here and via www.djunctionbox.com/ziggurat.
