Dayne Adrian Sitladeen, known professionally as Yung Lava, is a Canadian rapper from Rexdale, Toronto. He is widely considered one of the most influential figures in the Toronto "underground" or "drill" scene, known for his gritty storytelling and his role as a central figure in the O-Blocc (Orpington Crescent) music collective. Despite his incarceration, Yung Lava remains a polarizing but undeniable figure in Canadian hip-hop. He is often cited by younger Rexdale artists as an influence for putting their neighbourhood on the map. However, his career is also frequently used as a "cautionary tale" by Toronto media regarding the thin line between rap authenticity and real-world violence.
