About Yinglee SriJumpol
Yinglee Srijumpol is a prominent Thai luk thung and lam sing singer under Grammy Gold / GMM Music, widely known as the first Thai luk thung artist to achieve 100 million YouTube views. Yinglee first entered the music industry in 2005 with her debut album “Yan Tok Sawan” under a small label. The album featured the rising track “Bo Yan Bap,” which began gaining strong momentum but also sparked significant public controversy due to its storyline about a woman willingly entering a relationship with a man who already had a partner. The backlash led to the song being banned, causing the momentum to collapse and leaving Yinglee without a follow-up album. Once her contract expired, she was left unsure whether she could continue pursuing a career as a singer. A major turning point came when renowned lam sing composer Sawat Sarakham took her under his wing and later encouraged her to audition for Grammy Gold. She passed and became the label’s first lam sing artist. In late 2012, Yinglee released her major-label debut “Kha Khao Sao Lam Sing.” While the album’s lead single did not generate the level of impact the label had expected, the tenth track “Kor Jai Ter Laek Ber Tho” organically began receiving radio requests and charting regionally. Recognizing its growing momentum, the label pivoted and promoted it as the second single. The song exploded into a nationwide phenomenon, becoming the first luk thung song in Thailand to surpass 100 million YouTube views, turning Yinglee into an overnight sensation. In 2015, she returned with her second album “Yoo Yen Pen Sot,” led by the hit “Ror Sai Khon Sot,” which also earned over 100 million views, cementing her reputation as one of the most impactful modern luk thung performers. However, her third album in 2017 did not receive the same level of attention. Around that time, Yinglee began suffering from severe health issues caused by an exhausting touring schedule, eventually being diagnosed with hyperthyroidism. Her limited ability to promote the album contributed to its quieter performance. In 2020, she made a long-awaited return to lam sing for her fourth album, but the COVID-19 pandemic made promotion nearly impossible, leading to results below expectations. Feeling discouraged, Yinglee considered ending her contract, worried she had become a burden to the label. But Grammy Gold insisted on supporting her. Her resurgence arrived in 2022 with “Caffeine,” a song she wrote and produced herself. Its upbeat, playful energy sparked viral challenges and brought her back into mainstream conversation after years of hardship. Since then, she has continued releasing singles, some hits, some flop, but her position as one of Thailand’s iconic “100-million-view queens” remains unshaken. Today, Yinglee remains an active artist under Grammy Gold, consistently releasing new music and occasionally appearing in TV dramas. Beyond her entertainment career, she also runs a successful resort and water park in her hometown of Buriram, further solidifying her role as a beloved figure in Thai pop-folk culture.
