About Yeng Constantino
Josephine “Yeng” Constantino (born December 4, 1988) is a Filipina pop-rock singer-songwriter and guitarist. She first rose to fame in 2006 as the “Grand Star Dreamer” winner of ABS-CBN’s Pinoy Dream Academy. Soon after, her debut album Salamat (2007) – featuring mostly her own compositions – was released by Star Records and quickly became a hit, going Gold and then multi-Platinum in the Philippines. Constantino’s follow-up albums solidified her success. In 2008 she released Journey (also certified Gold), and in 2013 she issued Metamorphosis which went Gold and produced the chart-topping single “Chinito”. Her 2014 album All About Love likewise earned Gold and featured the enduring ballad “Ikaw”. Over her career she has amassed around 70 industry awards and recognitions – including Awit Awards, Myx Music Awards and PMPC Star Awards – and her songs have become generational favorites. Notably, the music video for “Ikaw” has surpassed 100 million views on YouTube, making it one of the most-watched OPM videos by a female artist. In addition to her recording career, Constantino has ventured into film and television. She co-starred in the 2019 romantic film Write About Love and won the MMFF Best Supporting Actress award for her role. On TV she’s been a familiar face as a performer and judge – for example, she sat on the judging panels of ABS-CBN’s Pinoy Boyband Superstar (2016) and the Tawag ng Tanghalan segment of It’s Showtime (2016–present). She also performs live regularly: in 2023 she toured the US and Canada as part of the OPM concert series Vocal Champs (with singers Kyla and KZ Tandingan). Over the years Constantino’s catalog has been hugely popular with listeners – by mid‑2023 her songs had amassed over 350 million streams on Spotify. In recent years Yeng has continued to evolve her career. In 2023 she signed with Republic Records Philippines (joining labelmates like Moira Dela Torre), and that same year she was named global ambassadress of the Singapore-based Academy of Rock. Under her new label she has released several new singles – for example, “Babala” and a 10th-anniversary remastered version of “Ikaw” (2024) – and in 2025 she launched her first self-produced single “Lumulutang Nahuhulog”. She has also contributed original songs to film soundtracks (such as the 2024 movie Fruitcake) and collaborated with other OPM artists.
