The band started out in the summer of 06 with Matt and Pat writing songs on acoustic guitars. They soon decided to bring some life into the music and electrify the sound. They both knew Ali from a previous band and knew that he would be perfect as the band's bassist. Ali soon introduced the band to Mark, a longtime friend of his, and Year's Best Lie as you know it was formed.
