About Western Civ
Originally from Muscle Shoals Alabama, these indie rockers set out to find a home for themselves and their music. This search led them to the dark underground clubs in Chapel Hill, NC. Since relocating Western Civ has hooked up with veteran producer Mitch Easter (REM, Superchunk, Pavement, Birds of Avalon) and recorded a new album that is set to be released in March of 2009. Influenced by artists ranging from Brian Wilson to Archers of Loaf, there is a sound there that is all their own. CMJ blast has written about them and their up coming third release and the "Fans of Left of Center's" facebook newsletter said, "You will want to be able to say, "I was listening to them before they were everyone's favorite band!"
