About Vic Twenty

Vic Twenty are a boy and a girl who create crisp, brilliant analogue pop without a flicker of post-modern irony. Pointedly rejecting contemporary dance music and culture and with a nimble sidestep around doleful indie tedium, Vic Twenty draw us into a pastoral electronic world where the future has not yet turned to shit. Their songs sparkle with hooks and well-crafted melodies, with cleverly observed lyrics displaying a keen eye for the zeitgeist. When Vic from Cardiff met Piney from Kansas City and formed Vic Twenty in 2002, they set off on a mission with bringing back the synthesizer to popular music as a mission. In the year to follow they grew to become a mainstay on the London live scene (headlining 93 Feet East, Mute Irregular Night, Heaven, Cherry Jam's Rough Trade Nite, Xfm X-posure etc..), gigged around Britain, gained regular Xfm airplay and amassed a devoted following. The duo also caught the attention of Mute impresario Daniel Miller, who decided to release the single on his own offshoot label Credible Sexy Units.
