About Vatroslav Lisinski

Vatroslav Lisinski (July 8, 1819 in Zagreb – May 31, 1854 Zagreb). Lisinski composed the first Croatian opera: "Ljubav i zloba" ("Love and Malice", 1846) and "Porin" (1851). He changed his name from his Christened name Ignaz Fuchs to Vatroslav Lisinski, which is the Croatian translation of the former.
