About Unterwelten

Unterwelten was a one-off project by Dutch singer-songwriter Michiel Flamman. The only Unterwelten album, simply entitled Unterwelten, was released in 2014. Having released music a J Perkin (one album, 2000) and Solo (three albums, 2003-2010, as a duo with Simon Gitsels) Flamman relocated to Berlin, Germany, in 2013 to reconsider things and find new musical outlets. Fascinated by the underground bunker system by the city's Gesundbrunnen metro station, the so-called Berliner Unterwelten, he decided to use that name for his next project, featuring some of the darker songs in his catalogue. Although originally not a Solo album, the Unterwelten is now listed under Solo on streaming platforms and may be scrobbled as such.
