About Try This At Home
Sadly the band split in 2012 but their spirit lives on in The Ciazarn Affair and Lazarus Try This At Home were:- Ross Burnside - Vocals, Guitar, Synth Ryan Aitken (Ryan_TTAH) - Vocals, Guitar Johnny Souter - Bass, Backing Vocals Marc Ainsworth - Guitar, Backing Vocals Phillip Morrison - Drums Formed in early 2010 in the city of Glasgow, Scotland, Try This At Home are a perfect fusion of pop-punk and synthesisers. The four-piece was originally comprised of Ross (vocals, guitar and synth), Ryan (guitar and vocals), Johnny (bass and vocals), and Dave Maxwell on drums. Marc (guitar and vocals) joined the band later to beef up the guitars for both live and recorded performances. Dave has since left the band (now with A Day Overdue) and Phil (of Concept Of Time) stepped in as a replacement. The band have cited some of the biggest names in pop-punk as their main influences, the likes of Blink 182 and All Time Low ranking high, but its really just anything that inspires them! The band have have already played in some of Glasgow’s finest venues; O2 Academy, QMU, ABC, Classic Grand and the world famous King Tut’s Wah Wah Hut; as well as The Tunnels in Aberdeen, and the Doghouse in Dundee. They have played with some big names so far, Canterbury, Not Advised and Twenty Twenty as well as a full day event - Rewired Festival - at the O2 ABC where they were on the bill alongside the likes of Flood of Red and Rolo Tomassi. The band have recently been announced to be joining the BBC Introducing system which means this time next year they could be playing Reading and Leeds! If you see them announced, you know who to vote for! Having written their first, self-titled EP in under one week and recorded in just one day, the band managed to sell all fifty copies that they pressed and are currently in the process of writing EP number two for a release early in 2011.
