Birmingham, United Kingdom-born, merchant seaman Tommy Adderley jumped ship in 1959 and settled in New Zealand, where he scored early hits such as 'Mr. Jinx' (1965, featuring guitar legend, Doug Jerebine). Until his death in 1993 Adderley remained one of New Zealand's most accomplished and versatile singers.
