The Peasantry

About The Peasantry

The Peasantry is a high-spirited group who possess a keen ear for pop sensibilities and a inate desire to push harmonic and sonic boundaries. These students of Boston's prestigious Berklee College of Music formed the group at the very beginning of their second semester at the college. Shortly after the band began rehearsing in January 2006, they were asked by producer Eduardo Bothelo to record three songs in the Berklee studios. These recordings became the "Terrible Chairs EP." For a band which had less than 6-months of experience under it's belt, the recordings showcase not just the band's pure talent, but also their abilitiy to grow quickly in order to create the best music they can possibly make. This is a quality which is hard to come by in most bands with the same amount of experience. The Peasantry was invited to perform a set at the "Reel Thugs Release Party" held in Somerville, MA's PA's Lounge; they ended up headlining the show due to unusual circumstances. The band impressed the crowd not only through their music, but also through their vivacious stage presence. The band anticipates working on their first full-length album beginning October 2006, as well as beginning to play regularly in Boston and it's surrounding areas. The Peasantry is: Elliot Michaud - Guitar, Keys, Vox Steve Jaunzemis - Guitar, Keys, Vox Jeff Apruzzese - Bass Nate Donmoyer - Drums
