About The Nevers
The Nevers was a short-lived mod-influenced power pop/pop rock group that came out of Knoxville, TN in the late 90s. It was made up of singer-songwriter John Paul Keith (vocals/guitar), Rick Tiller (guitar), Paul Noe (bass), and David Jenkins (drums). Their sound was a throwback to British Invasion bands such as the Kinks, the Who, and the Beatles-- with influences from new wave stalwarts such as the Jam as well. They described their sound as “three-minute songs with hooks that rock". The Nevers released their self-titled debut album in 1999 with Sire Records. They had come on the public scene in 1997 at the Extravaganza music conference and had been recognized at the prestigious Nashville Music Awards as one of the city’s top unsigned acts. The band broke up in 1999, having released only that album.
