About The Impressionables
Hailing from Epsom, Surrey; this 3 piece were active between 2004 and 2006. During that time they had a short-lived but prolific run. Having started as the brain-child of Sebastian English, a summer cooped up in, drummer, Chris Morrant's drum-shed they emerged with an EP which they recorded on a Pentium II PC, a single microphone and something in the region of 10 takes. A spate of gigs later and some fans along the way they got in contact with producer Oliver Daffern and from spring to summer of 2006 they recorded they're debut album Symbiotic. This was received very well but just as it was looking up, Chris moved to Lincoln and they split up at the end of the year. However - all hope is not lost, having been through numerous incarnations before their latest line up, rumour has it that frontman and song-writer Sebastian English, hopes one to re-awaken this sleeping-brain child. "Time is not right yet, but I hope that I will meet the right people to collaborate with in the not-too-distant future... We'll see I guess" Right now Chris is working on a solo project entitled Citizen-M and Sebastian is doing composition for theatre and has his own solo project called The Arachne Complex - both have taken a somewhat electronic edge (since the band split up they both discovered a) MIDI and b) synthesisers) but the Arachne Complex, having released an EP of electronic instrumentals in September, is starting to develop toward acoustic guitars and vocals. "I wanted to return to my roots after doing Song Without Names [the aforementioned EP]" said Sebastian, "[the EP] was a lot of fun to make, and it was definitely worth experimenting in a direction I didn't expect to take - I mean electronica, mixed with elements of classical arrangements, mixed with god knows what; some people called it electronic Gamelan - was a great learning experience. It also helped me get out of a rut as a musician. However, I started making music in my bedroom with no equipment - it was just me and my acoustic guitar; that's where I started, that's me. I feel like I'm getting this calling to go back to that place where everything is stripped right down and simple. Where it's all about THE SONG, you know?"
