About The Fake Fictions
The Fake Fictions have been building a reputation for sharp hooks, good times and an insanely fun live show since forming in Chicago in April 2004, playing with bands such as the Like Young, Office, and Bunnygrunt at venues like the Empty Bottle, Schuba's, Subterranean, the Hideout and the Beat Kitchen, as well as playing the CMJ Music Festival in New York City in 2006. Nick Ammerman and Sarah Johnson (on guitar and bass respectively) write raw and catchy pop songs with alternating boy/girl vocals. Drummer Ben Bilow provides a pulsing backbeat that ties together the three-piece's hook-laden melodies. With a sound that references new wave, garage rock, and pure pop, the Fake Fictions bring a fun and nostalgic sound; the perfect soundtrack for the last day of school or dry-humping in your parents' basement.
