About The Evening Watch
The Evening Watch is the pen name of Irish-based composer/musician Andrew Cooke. Although primarily interested in classical composition, he has been a dedicated songwriter for over ten years and writes, records and mixes all songs in a home studio set-up. Influenced by a wide range of different genres; anything from Renaissance polyphony (!) through jazz, blues, folk, psych, rock and electronica, the resultant songs end up synthesising any number of different elements yet ultimately still possess an accessible individuality. The Evening Watch has evolved through a number of previous names and line-ups but 2011 will finally see a long-delayed release of debut album Theatre Of War, and a number of gigs to coincide. The three tracks available to listen to here are from the album. Other material is currently accessible at: http://soundcloud.com/the-evening-watch http://www.myspace.com/theeveningwatch http://breakingtunes.com/theeveningwatch Born in Dublin, Andrew studied music at Trinity College and is classically trained in piano, and also plays bass guitar and clarinet amongst other instruments. His compositions have been performed over years by the National Chamber Choir, Trinity Orchestra, and a number of other Dublin choirs. The Evening Watch live line-up also includes long-term collaborators Simon O'Moore Donohoe and Dermot O'Leary. Thank you for showing an interest in The Evening Watch.
