The Cheshyres

About The Cheshyres

The Cheshyres were a continuation of the RoadRunners / Beaumonts, with Ross Edwards (lead guitar), Doug S. Brown (rhythm guitar), Dave Klassen (bass and Ken Anderson (drums) from those two bands, and newcomer Wayne Pattern on vocals and harmonica. They moved from Vancouver to Toronto in the fall of 1985, and managed one recording session on March 6, 1986, at Comfort Sound, before Doug returned to Vancouver, leaving the band to carry on as a four piece for a further year. After that, the members went their various ways, with Ken making the biggest splash as a member of New York's Optic Nerve and the Ultra Five. Noteworthy of the Cheshyres only studio recording, live off the floor to two track, is the crisp drum sound, captured by a plate microphone taped to Ken's chest.
