the california suns were a recording and concert group from San Diego California. The Suns consisted of Gary Williams (vocals and rhythm guitar), Raymond Lucia (vocals and lead guitar), Jimmie Hombs (vocals and keyboard), and Don Weck (vocals and bass guitar). They were managed by Mike Borchetta and Marshall Leib. The Suns were influenced by "beach music" and signed as the replacement group for Jan and Dean in 1966 after Jan's horrific auto accident.
