About The Popsicles
The Popsicles were a finger snap yes wave pop group active in 2007. The band formed in spring 2007 when the five members met at the legendary Whitehaus Family Hootennanies of Jamaica Plain, Boston. Their album "Stay Awhile with the Popsicles" was engineered by Shane Myrbeck and featured songs written by each member. In fall 2007, the group split to pursue individual interests. Kate Lee and Kit Wallach currently perform as Gracious Calamity and as members of Peace, Loving. Shira E. continues to perform songs and poetry to great critical acclaim. The group's sound is marked by a pared-down, acoustic doo-wop feel, with the instrumentation for the album being five voices, one guitar, clarinet, shakers, and the rare melodica and piano.
