There are two collaborative supergroups with this name: 1) featuring John Vanderslice and John Darnielle 2) featuring Finnish stand up comedians 1) "The Comedians" is the name of a collaborative supergroup featuring John Vanderslice and John Darnielle. Darnielle put up a sketch of theirs on The Mountain Goats' website as part of a Christmas "tradition." http://www.mountain-goats.com/archives/2007/12/in-which-the-wo.html In 2009, Darnielle and Vanderslice released Moon Colony Bloodbath, a concept record about organ harvesting colonies on the moon. The EP was initially produced in a limited vinyl run of 1000 and sold during their "Gone Primitive" tour. No plans for wider distribution have been announced. 2) The Comedians is a Finnish cover band featuring stand up comedians Sami Hedberg, Niko Kivelä, Mika Eirtovaara and Jacke Björklund. They have performed at least at Tomaatteja! Tomaatteja! stand up festival at Hämeenlinna. They played songs from Red Hot Chili Peppers, The Jimi Hendrix Experience and Lenny Kravitz among others.
