About THE SANDS

There are at least 3 artists known as The Sands: 1° The Sands was a Belgian pop/rock band consisting of Guy Van Nueten (organ, percussion, piano), Michel Vanderhaeghen (guitar & vocals) and other musicians. Their debut album released in 1995 was produced by Bill Janovitz (known from the American band Buffalo Tom). They released an EP in 1996 and even had a radio hit with "April & June" on alternative radio station Studio Brussel. They are probably one of the most underrated Belgian bands despite very good acclaims by music connoisseurs. 2° The Sands is a chamber pop band consisting of Julie McGeer (lyricist and vocals) and Peggy Lee (composer and piano, cello) and other musicians. The group is based in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. The Sands' jazz cover of John Lennon's "Jealous Guy" receives regular airplay on CBC Radio 2. 3° The SandS is a Russian tracker/demo group founded in 1994. SandS members composed a lot of video game soundtracks.
