About Sztorm 68

Sztorm 68 are a Polish Oi / punk band formed in Krakow on February 1991 by a group of skinheads. The lyrical themes of their musical works are usually about the working class, struggles, society, anti-establishment, politics, and anti-imperialism. The political stance of this band conveys ideological message of radical form of socialism with revolutionary nationalism. The band's lyrical contents are considered by some as controversial for those following things - such as supporting the ideological system of former Polish People's Republic, strong anti-zionist / anti-Americanist / anti-capitalist sentiments, defending General Jaruzelski's decision to impose martial law in order to suppress the so-called "CIA-backed pro-democracy anarchist rioters" on their song titled "Dziękujemy", praising Saddam Hussein for being strong Arab socialist leader who bravely resisted imperialism, and honouring the Baader-Meinhof militant group. According to the band, the origin of band's name originated from the 1968 Polish political crisis. They said zionist sympathizers in the Polish United Workers' Party (PZPR) organized students rebellion in order to commit coup d’etat. The so-called "patriots" led by General Mieczysław Moczar mobilized workers who defended Poland’s freedom, who secured the revolutionary government on the streets. Thousands of Jews were eventually purged. It was the “Storm of 1968” in Poland, hence becoming Sztorm 68. Sztorm 68 envisions strong, free and pure Poland - with people’s power and social justice achieved through socialist revolution. Some also describes the band's ideology for being somwehat similar to Strasserism. The band stands with Middle Eastern freedom fighters in their struggle against imperialism and zionist occupation. The band also once took part on Wrocław musical festival of Aryan Survival Front with Konkwista 88. In an interview, one of the members even praised the activities of a pro-communist nationalist organization, "Grunwald" Patriotic Union (Zjednoczenie Patriotyczne „Grunwald”).
