System Annihilated was formed in Sweden’s, or maybe the entire world’s, most innovative music town - Umeå. The band started out in 2009 at only 13 and 14 yearas of age, and has since then established their name in Umeå in particular and Sweden in general. The debut album “Furor” was recorded at Garageland Studios in July 2012 with Umeå’s legendary metal producer Ronnie Björnström (Aeon, Zonaria, Ghamorean). It consists of heavy, groovy and angry metal. The songs make you want to scream, beat someone up, do a kickass stage dive or just dance for a while. System Annihilated has made a debut album that according to themselves are at half thought through and intelligent, and at half written in pure panic the nights before the studio was booked. ‘ “Furor” is one of those albums you find hard to believe is a debut album’, Johan Norström of Discouraged Records states. ‘It reeks of professionalism but doesn’t lack any youthful enthusiasm.’ The bands mix of hardcore and death metal with progressive parts gives an impression of something new that you haven’t heard before, and through constant variation it stays interesting the albums entire 30 minutes. With this debut the band portraits an enormous musical maturity and has found safety in their song writing. System Annihilated has created a sound you recognize but still haven’t heard before. Despite their youth, System Annihilated have already gained more live experience than many older (and more boring) bands, as they came second in nationwide live performance competition “Livekarusellen”. They’ve also played House of Metal in their home town Umeå, a festival visited by amongst others Meshuggah, Lamb of God, Job For a Cowboy, August Burns Red and Pray For Locust. And now the band is ready to conquer the world, one step at the time.
