About Swarmer
Swarmer was born from the seed of many great bands. In its first iteration, the band was called Korihor, formed by Chris Clement, Jason Weidauer, Peter Makowski, and Jarom Bischoff. Eventually, Jarom moved on to pursue other projects and was replaced by Andrew Drechsel who brought a hard-hitting and unique angle to the writing process. With this lineup change, the band became Swarmer. Recording for Swarmer’s debut release, the One Pound EP, was initiated in the summer of 2018 with Andy Patterson in Salt Lake City with final touches and mastering completed in December the same year. Swarmer’s sound is low, heavy, and relentless with strong influence from members’ previous works. The third song on the EP (the first song written by the group) took the band’s original name, having been written from the perspective of a Mormon (LDS) character named “Korihor”. “Covenant” and “Foremast” were similarly written from Chris’s post-religious background, while “One Pound” and “Burrowed” are the product of Peter’s philosophies on fighting for life and inevitable death. Other works by members of Swarmer: Accidente, Bandhood, Bird Eater, Cherubin, Day of less, Drowning By Numbers, Form of Rocket, Gaza, Laughter, Motherkilljoy, Pilot This Plane Down, Team Dead
