About Sunnyvale Noise Sub-Element

Sunnyvale Noise Sub-element are a three-piece experimental electronic band from Oxford and London, formed in 2000. Initially conceived as an experiment in improvised electronic music, early compositions were hour-long slabs of sound, utilising the likes of glue, crisps, clockwork toys and kitchen utensils alongside the standard array of programmed rhythms, samples, and effects. These early dissections developed into a scattershot cut 'n' paste aesthetic taking as much from Detroit house as it does from Chicago guitar noise. Sunnyvale create an elaborate weave of sonic textures described as "Kraftwerk remixed by Shellac", and can shift from confrontational dissonance to the kind of experimentation that can make you dance, all within the space of a single song.
