About Still Crescent
Still Crescent a recording project of Sebastien Wright, whose previous releases on Make Mine Music came out under the name August Stars. With his Still Crescent project Sebastien wanted to explore electronic/computer based sounds, as opposed to the organic soundscapes of August Stars. The debut release was the darkly isolationist The Railway Terminus, The October Twilight, The Circulatory System, released in early 2008. It was followed a few months later by Along The Fringe of Starlit Frost, perhaps more accessible than its predecessor, it was Sebastien's foray into a less abstract and more structured electronic sound. The music itself was described by boomkat as "...a chilly absoluteness, combining soft drones with brittle crackling textures." The third and final release of the project, Still Crescent EP, was released in December 2010. It is a collection of outtakes and experiments recorded during the summer of 2007, prior to the release of the first EP.
