About Small Life Within
Small Life Within was started in the Summer of 2006 as a temporary improvised project for one show by Zach Leeson. He then contacted people he had hand-picked for the project, which led to the current lineup. The first practice started out as a bizarre electro-funk session, as they tend to do with the people in the band, but quickly changed into a very calm ambient atmosphere. Small Life Within played their first show at Jesse Hardy's birthday show, at friend Tim Darby's house. The show was essentially terrible, and people were leaving. However, over time, the band eventually started writing more coherent things, and started to develop more routine methods in their song-writing and practicing. Near the end of 2006, the band was playing a huge number of shows. This died down as they started recording their first album. The album was recorded with one microphone at Logan's house, and produced and mixed by Jesse. The Album was finished being recorded in March of 2007, and hand-printed in April. There were 50 copies originally printed. The album was officially released on May 12th with a show to accompany it.
