About Sixpeopleaway

Sixpeopleaway is the musical project of Alistair Merrick (vocals/guitar) and Robert Hitchen (bass/backing vocals). Together they produce angular acoustic guitar and vocal-led songs with laptop-generated beats and sounds. After being named Your Sound Artist Of The Month in November 2006, sixpeopleaway released their self-titled debut EP in July 2007. The release was named Single Of The Fortnight by The List and Single Of The Week by Jim Gellatly, resulting in lead track Providence being playlisted by XFM Scotland. Second EP Intermittent Fault, released in February 2008, also received airplay on XFM Scotland and both national and Scottish BBC Radio One shows, including a live session on Vic Galloway's Introducing. New single If.Then.Else was released as a download on December 29th and is also available on limited edition CD at gigs and via the band's website. Sixpeopleaway are also currently working on new material with a view to releasing their debut album in 2009.
