About Sivasri Skandaprasad
Coming from the family of established Artistes, Sivasri is staunchly determined to establish as a Performing Classical Musician, Bharathnatyam and Namasankeerthanam artiste. She is the granddaughter of Kalaimamani late Seerkazhi R. Jayaraman who was an established Musician and Smt. Shanthi Jayaraman who is a popular vocal accompaniment for leading Bharatanatyam artistes, on the paternal side and Purvashrama granddaughter of the former Pontiff of the Thennangur Gnananandagiri Peetham, His Holiness Sri Namanandagiri Swamigal who was a Namasankeerthanam exponent, on the maternal side. Sivasri’s father is a renowned Mridangam Vidwan Seerkazhi Sri J. Skandaprasad. She undergoes training in music under Sri A. S. Murali and Acharya Choodamani Smt. Roja Kannan for Bharatanatyam, since a very young age. Under the able guidance of her gurus, she has entered the concert circle as a performer. Her Lineage, natural talent, hard work and passion towards the Classical Arts has helped her bloom into a Professional Artiste. She is a B. Tech (Bio- Engineering) graduate from SASTRA University, Thanjavur and is currently pursuing MA Bharatanatyam from University of Madras and Sanskrit diploma from The Madras Sanskrit College.
